Native to: the African continent and it's islands, in Angola, Cameroon, Cape Province, Congo basin, Ethiopia, Ghana,
Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Malawi,
Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia,
Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania,
Togo, Transvaal, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
It is also found in South Europe.
